Beaconsfield Country Fayre returns for bank holiday
BANK Holiday Monday sees the return of one of the best-loved dates in the Beaconsfield calendar.
The Beaconsfield Country Fayre rolls into town with a host of family attractions and for the first time ever, a dog show.
Organisers are calling for dog lovers to sign up their prized pets as they continue their search for canine contestants.
Prizes will be awarded in categories for pedigree classes, as well as less traditional categories such as the dog with the waggiest tail.
And owners that resemble their dogs are also in luck, as there is a category for best look-a-like.
Ambitious owners will have their eyes on the coveted new Straid Cup, introduced for the inaugural contest.
The ever-popular stretcher race will also be returning to the Fayre, so local pubs can expect to see fancy dressed competitors popping in for a very swift half on their way around the course.
Teams this year include Beaconsfield RFC, The Dads, The Only Way Is Beaconsfield and defending champions the Cliff Richard Appreciation Society.
Several birds of prey, including symbol of America the bald eagle, will also be on show during the day.
The Fayre is organised by Friends of St Mary’s Church, Rennie Grove Hospice Care, Rotary and Lions club members and Beaconsfield Round table to raise money for charity.
Any proud owners wishing to enter their dog must first register online at www.beaconsfieldcountryfayre.org
The Beaconsfield Country Fayre is on bank holiday Monday, August 26 from 11am to 4pm in Windsor End, Beaconsfield Old Town and entry is free.
