Wycombe bus company searches for 'Knights of the Road'
A BUS company operating in High Wycombe is calling for passengers to tell them of bus drivers they believe have gone the extra mile.
Arriva buses, which operate services across South East, is giving its customers the chance to nominate one of their drivers for Arriva’s nation-wide Knight of the Road award This accolade is designed to recognise drivers who make a difference to customers when they travel on Arriva Buses, be it through their gallant efforts or just by adding a little extra sunshine to their passengers’ day. Whether it is their friendly manner, flawless driving or the fact they go above and beyond the call of duty, Arriva wants people who know best, its customers, to nominate drivers that deserve to be acknowledged.
Linsey Frostick, regional marketing manager of Arriva South East, said: "Our drivers are the frontline of Arriva’s services and therefore have a major impact on our customers. When it came to deciding which of our drivers we should recognise, the decision as to whose recommendation to seek was quite simple, our customers.
"We want to find which driver the people of High Wycombe think makes a difference to their bus travel. "Reasons for nomination could be as simple as always meeting passengers with a smile or remembering their names. To nominate an Arriva driver for the Knight of the Road Award customers can get in touch via our website."
The Knight of the Road award is part of the ‘Make a Difference’ campaign, a national recognition programme from Arriva Buses which looks at all elements of the bus company, including; engineering, depot management and back office functions. The Knight of the Road award for drivers is the only award which sees Arriva customers decide who deserves to win.
