12:00pm Sunday 25th August 2013 in News
CLASSIC cars, a dog show and the traditional fayre favourites, such as a coconut shy will be on offer on Bank Holiday Monday.
The annual Little Marlow Village Fete will take place on the Recreation Ground.
The usual stalls and activities, children’s races, bouncy castle, face painting, plate smashing, high striker bell, as well as cake stalls, jams, plants, bric-a-brac, books, crafts, tombola, raffle, and much more will be there.
Inspired by the great Bake-off, organisers have created a home baking competition. There will be prizes for the best tasting sponge cake, best decorated sponge cake, best tasting cup cake and best decorated cup cake.
Organiser Valerie Brownridge said: "Mary Berry has kindly signed some of her baking books for us to give as prizes."
The cakes will be judged by Bernard Burger of Burgers in Marlow.
Owners of classic cars are invited to bring on the day to join the display. There will be a prize for the vehicle and occupants most in keeping with the spirit of the event.
Rob Murray, an organiser, said: "Last year was our second display and we had a wonderful collection of vehicles and attracted a lot of interest from visitors.
"This area is full of garages and barns hiding classic cars and we would love to see them at the fete."
