Spiderman style antics for council chiefs
SPIDERMAN might be who you would most associate with a death defying 200ft climb down a building.
But next weekend it will be council chiefs, not the webbed superhero, who attempt to cling and drop the terrifying height.
Bucks County Council Chairman Carl Etholen, Leader Martin Tett, Chief Executive Chris Williams, and High Sheriff Sir Stuart Hampson will take on the feat.
Cllr Tett said: "I’m going to be braving the 200ft drop. It’s going to be slightly terrifying but exhilarating."
They will be among 100 abseilers clambering down the council offices in Aylesbury to raise more than £10,000 for Buckinghamshire Youth Bank.
Cllr Tett said: "The last time an abseil took place at County Hall was 1993, 20 years ago.
"Now, in 2013, we're hoping to raise a lot of money for Youth Bank, an innovative project run by young people for young people."
The organisation raises its own money to give grants to other young people for a variety of activities such as dance, drama, music workshops, community safety and volunteering.
The Almighty Abseil takes place on Saturday, September 7.
