Youngsters team up with mayor for breakdancing record attempt

THE Mayor teamed up with Wycombe youngsters in a bid to ‘pop and lock’ their way into the record books.
Mayor Trevor Snaith, wearing the town’s ‘bling’, kicked off the breakdancing record attempt with 40 of the town’s youngsters at Wycombe Museum on Friday.
The Wycombe Youth Action attempt fell well short of the 500-odd b-boyers required – but the dancers did raise more than £100 for the Wycombe Homeless Connection.
Youth Action’s assistant manager Marvin Taylor said: “The Mayor took the lead during the record attempt and he looked like he had a good time.
“Although they didn’t break the record, they still did very well organising the event in such a short space of time.”
The attempt was a task in the final week of the National Citizen Service, which aims to enhance 16 and 17 year olds work and social skills.
