Four-storey Gerrards Cross apartment block refused permission
AN APPLICATION to build a four-storey block of apartments in a leafy part of Gerrards Cross has been refused.
The 'Alpine Lodge' project on Lower Road sought permission for six two bedroom flats and two three bedroom flats to replace an existing two-storey detached chalet-style building.
Gerrards Cross Parish Council called the scheme “un-neighbourly” due to the loss of privacy given the proposed building’s height.
In a delegated decision last Thursday, South Bucks District Council refused the application.
The decision notice stated the building was “inappropriate in its context” and constituted overdevelopment of a constrained site.
Officers also listed its “obtrusive and over-dominant” impact on neighbours and the loss of protected trees as reasons for dismissing the proposed block.
