Charity collection box stolen in Downley shop robbery
A CHARITY box was stolen from a shop during a robbery in Downley by three masked men.
Alcohol was also taken from the Southfield General Store in Southfield Road, Downley, after the men threatened a member of staff.
All three were wearing dark clothing, hooded jackets with the hoods up and scarves over their faces.
The robbery happened shortly after 9pm on Monday, September 2, and Thames Valley Police have today launched an appeal for information and witnesses.
Investigating officer Det Con Ami Chapple said: "There were a couple of customers in the shop prior to the incident, so they may have seen the three men outside the shop.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with information about the offence, to contact the police immediately."
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Chapple on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
