Celebrity boost for Beaconsfield charity music festival
A HOST of celebrity guests are set to appear at a Beaconsfield charity music festival this weekend.
This year’s ‘KnotFest’ at The Red Lion pub in Knotty Green will be officially opened at 12pm on Saturday by nineties pop star Beverley Craven, who had a top 5 hit with ‘Promise Me’.
Veteran crooner and Beaconsfield resident Val Doonican will be dropping by to join in the fun, though pub staff admit the 86-year-old Irishman is unlikely to perform.
TV presenter Gabby Logan and her husband, ex-Wasps rugby player Kenny, are also due to attend the festival, which sees 25 bands and solo acts on stage over three days.
And Suzanne Shaw completes the roster of celebrity names, with the pop star, Emmerdale actress and Dancing on Ice contestant joining the crowds at the pub on Penn Road.
The Red Lion is in the running for a major national award after being shortlisted for industry publication The Publican's Morning Advertiser’s ‘Entertainment pub of the year 2013’.
The festival runs from Friday to Sunday, with landlady Tina Massie hopeful KnotFest will smash last year’s fundraising total of over £3000.
All proceeds will go towards the Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Maidenhead for children and adults with special needs.
