Denham man jailed for importing 1.2 million-volt stun guns

A MAN from Denham has been jailed for importing 1.2 million-volt stun guns disguised as mobile phones.
Sukhdeep Bir, of Wenlack Close, was sentenced to five years after being found guilty of the importation and possession of stun guns.
The 21-year-old’s crimes came to light when a package containing stun guns disguised as mobile phones was intercepted by HM Revenue and Customs.
Police then executed a firearms warrant at Bir’s home in December 2012, where a package containing the same type of weapons was found.
Each one of the 16 seized is capable of delivering a 1.2 million volt shock and can cause real harm if used in an attack, police said.
Investigating officer Det Con Tom Axon said: "I think the prison sentence imposed by the court demonstrates how seriously police and the courts take the possession and importation of these types of weapons.
"I hope this result acts as a deterrent to others considering this type of illegal activity."
Bir was convicted and sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, August 30.
