No reduction in Chiltern District Council membership planned
COUNCILLORS have voted not to reduce the number of elected representatives on Chiltern District Council.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has asked councils around the country to consider reducing the number of members.
But CDC members agreed on Tuesday not to downsize and keep the number of representatives at 40.
The proposal had been put forward by the Boundaries and Electoral Arrangements Committee before being rubber stamped on Tuesday night at a full meeting of members.
A council report said the average electorate per councillor was 1,836 and reducing the number of members would result in minimal savings.
