Spindles Farm survivor to perform at Blenheim Trials
A PONY rescued from a farm at the centre of a high profile animal cruelty case is to take part in the prestigious Blenheim Horse Trials this weekend.
Star was one of more than 100 animals to be rescued from Spindles Farm in Hyde Heath in 2008 and was taken to the Horse Trust in Speen.
Staff at the centre said when he arrived from the farm, where more than 30 animals were found dead in squalid conditions, he suffered from a number of health problems and struggled to take a two inch step unaided.
But five years on after his ordeal Star has been taught how to pull a trap by trainer Jane Calvert, and will be showing off his new skills in the Attractions Arena at Blenheim on Sunday.
He will be joined in the arena by another Horse Trust resident, Rocky, at 10am and 1pm.
