Bourne End pub's charity day for African Orphanage trips
A BOURNE End pub is carrying on its tradition of raising money for an African orphanage when it holds a charity day next week.
Dave and Sue Wright, owners of the Bounty in Cockmarsh, have flown out twice a year for 10 years to South Africa to hand over cash to the Mama Amelia Orphanage in South Africa.
Volunteers and pub regulars have also made the trip to help put the money to good use and develop the centre.
And on Sunday, September 22, the fundraising continues at the Thames-side pub with a family fun day from 2pm followed by an evening of comedy and music.
The popular Bounty Pet Show returns with a range of weird and wonderful categories including fluffiest dog and cheekiest lizard.
A raffle, tombola, facepainting and quizzes will provide the children-friendly fun throughout the day, with comedy and music for the grown-ups including celebrated country musician Bob James playing live.
