Join in with the Chilterns Three Peaks challenge
FINAL preparations are being made for the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge this Sunday.
Jenny Provin, chief executive of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, will be pulling on her walking boots and setting her sights on the peaks of the Chilterns when she takes part.
She will be tackling the nine mile route which involves scaling the Chilterns peaks of Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon.
Accompanied by her husband, Luiz, and her sister, Sarah, Jenny is greatly looking forward to the walk and to meeting hundreds of the charity’s supporters who will also be taking part.
Jenny said: "Since joining Rennie Grove Hospice Care in January I have spent much of my time out in the local community with the nurses, meeting patients and learning about how we help them by basing our care around their wishes and by being there for them day or night.
"I have also been privileged to get to know many of our really loyal supporters and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to meet more of them and hear their stories as we walk on Sunday." It’s still not too late to sign up for the walk.
Online entry for the Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge is open until 12pm tomorrow and costs £17.50 for adults and £10 for children. Dogs are welcome and are free.
There is a choice of a 5 mile, 9 mile or 18 mile route and the entry fee includes a t-shirt, medal, water along the route and free transport on a dedicated Arriva bus service back to the car park at the start and between Wendover and Tring Station for those who elect the 9 mile route.
Entries will also be accepted on the day between 9.30 and 10.30 am at the start point in Princes Risborough at a cost of £20 for adults and £10 for children.
