The Bradenham Bolt is nearing
ALL plans are in place for the National Trust’s new 10k trail run and family fun event on the Bradenham Estate on September 22.
More than 100 runners have already booked their places in the Bradenham Bolt but there is still room for late-comers who are being encouraged to sign-up online or come along and pay on the day (cash only).
"We are delighted by the response we have had so far and we hope to get even more on the day," said National Trust ranger Matt Shrimpton.
"If this first event goes well we hope it will become an annual event and that more people will discover and explore the beautiful landscape around Bradenham."
The event is designed for outdoor enthusiasts by outdoor enthusiasts. The National Trust’s Chilterns Countryside rangers have joined forces with the Handy Cross Running club and the online running database www.nomeanfeat.net to create the challenging but fun-packed 10k trail through the historic Chilterns landscape.
There will also be plenty of attractions for families and friends who come to cheer on the runners, including activities from the National Trust’s 50 Things To Do Before You’re 11¾.
Mr Shrimpton said: "The setting is a mix of tall beech woodlands, rolling hills and fields but there will also be some surprises along the way.
"Runners of all abilities are welcome to take part and they can expect mud, hills, obstacles and most importantly, a good time. Bring along friends and family to cheer you on from designated viewing areas."
The entry fee is £15 (plus £1.45 booking fee for online bookings). The minimum age is 16. Disabled runners are welcome to enter the Bradenham Bolt but contact the organisers first to discuss any special requirements.
For further information and special requirements please telephone National Trust ranger Matt Shrimpton on 07889 157919.
