Refurb planned for High Wycombe town hall
EARLY next year the town hall in High Wycombe is going to undergo a major refurbishment.
Funded by the Wycombe District Council The Wycombe Swan Town Hall will be given a new look and renamed The Old Town Hall.
Plans include redesigning the foyer to give it a "wow factor" and new flooring, staging and seating in the main hall.
There will be new signs outside and a new heating and ventilation system, as well as an improved internal link between the Swan Theatre and the hall.
Cllr John Gibbs, WDC’s cabinet member for community, said: "The town hall and the Oak Room have always been fantastic assets for High Wycombe.
"By investing in the refurbishment of The Old Town Hall, we are strengthening the cultural, community and entertainment offer in the town and supporting the Swan Theatre in a cost effective manner.
"Investing in these works will increase revenue from the overall complex and removes the need for a subsidy from us."
The venue will be fully flexible and able to move from hosting a conference during the day to staging a party or performance in the evening.
The launch of the newly refurbished Old Town Hall will be in early April 2014.
