South Bucks rubbish collections set for overhaul
MAJOR changes to the way rubbish is collected in South Bucks are set to be agreed by councillors this evening.
South Bucks District Council will meet to discuss the new measures, which will come into force around February next year.
The new collection procedure is likely to be as follows:
• Fortnightly refuse collection from a wheelie bin
• Fortnightly recycling collections using wheelie bins and existing paper boxes
• Weekly food waste collections from a 25l container
• Chargeable garden waste collection service
SBDC are following in the footsteps of Wycombe and Chiltern District Council, who agreed a new shared waste policy which has already been rolled out in the Chilterns.
The council are hiring temporary staff to deal with residents' enquiries over the new scheme, but will be unable to take calls and answer questions from Monday.
A letter outlining the changes will be sent to all households next week, with a series of roadshows planned for later this year.
