Progress expected over Gerrards Cross traffic hotspot
LONG-AWAITED progress on a controversial traffic hotspot could take place this week.
Bucks County Council held a public consultation in February over options to alter the much derided traffic light set up near Tesco on Packhorse Road in Gerrards Cross.
The parish council has a meeting with BCC representatives on Wednesday to discuss progress since evaluating the views of over 400 people.
Councillors are hopeful county officials will have chosen a solution to the traffic flow problem from the options presented to the public.
Since May, the parish has had no contact with BCC, with members vocal over the length of time to solve the issue.
Residents have taken issue with the junction layout ever since it was re-designed as part of the new Tesco development on the railway bridge in 2010.
In the consultation, villagers favoured the option of removing the traffic lights at the Station Road junction and reinstating the pedestrian crossing outside Boots.
