Inquest: Man worried about car accident took his own life
A 57-YEAR-old man, who seemed to be worried about a minor car accident, took his own life, an inquest heard.
Swee Moon Tang, of Shelburne Road, High Wycombe was found dead by his partner, Beelan Phuan, on July 22.
The inquest at Beaconsfield Coroner's Court on Thursday heard Mr Tang, who was born in Malaysia, came to the UK in 1980 on a student visa, but immigration authorities had no record of him since.
Det Con Chris Mavers read part of a statement from Miss Phuan who said Mr Tang had not opened up to her recently, but she suspected he may be depressed.
He had had a minor car accident in a car park, which appeared to be worrying him as he had laid out the insurance documents on the study table.
The court heard he was insured to drive, but under his partner's name.
At 3.30am on July 22 Miss Phuan had got up and found Mr Tang in the kitchen. She checked he was ok before going back to bed.
DC Mavers said Mr Tang left a suicide note, which confessed some form of insurance misdemeanor and said his partner deserved better than him.
A post mortem showed he died from hanging.
Coroner Richard Hulett returned a verdict that Mr Tang took his own life.
