Pinewood Studios launch on-site cinema
MOVIEGOERS can now watch the latest blockbuster movies on the big screen in the very spot where many of them were filmed.
Pinewood Cinema is the latest venture by world-famous movie studios in Iver Heath, which are responsible for some of the biggest films and television shows ever created.
The cinema, located in the heart of the studio complex, was launched this week and is operated by independent chain Curzon Cinemas.
It will show a range of films, from family favourites to independent movies and blockbuster hits, some of which were produced at the studios.
Curzon are bringing their expertise to the new venue by selecting the programme of films for Pinewood Cinema.
The opening weekend began on Saturday, and included US indie hits Frances Ha and What Maisie Knew, family favourite Epic and René Clément’s classic Plein Soleil.
Philip Knatchbull, CEO of Curzon, said: “The partnership between Pinewood Studios and Curzon Cinemas brings together two of the most prestigious and recognisable brands from the British film industry.
“We are proud to be working alongside Pinewood Studios, and are sure that the cinema will prove a great success.”
The box office opens to buy tickets online only at www.pinewoodcinema.com on the Wednesday before weekend screenings.
