Men sought after card skimmer fitted to cashpoint in Marlow
POLICE have released CCTV images of two men wanted in connection to a card skimming device being fitted to a cashpoint in Marlow.
One man had £250 stolen from his account as a result and officers investigating the incident say other people who were affected haven't got in touch with them yet.
The device, which copies the magnetic stripe details of the card and the customer's PIN, was fitted to the cash machine at Barclays Bank in High Street on Thursday, September 12.
A man tried to use the machine at 7.30pm but his card was swallowed and the ATM showed an error message saying it was temporarily out of order.
He returned half an hour later and saw the card slot was different. He called his bank, who confirmed £250 had been withdrawn from his account.
The CCTV footage released today shows the two men police say removed the device from the cashpoint before the man returned. Officers describe both men as black, with shaven heads and about 5ft 9ins tall.
Several other victims have reported losing money after using the same machine but have reported it to the bank and not the police, and officers have urged them to contact them.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw anyone behaving suspiciously in the area, or has any other information which may assist police with their investigation should contact PC Anthony Cope on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
