Thousands flock to Thame Food Festival
THAME Food Festival welcomed thousands of foodies on Saturday, making it the biggest one yet.
There were an estimated 25,000 people who came to the pretty market town throughout the day for the festival which is now in its sixth year.
The rain held off for most of the day and some stallholders had run out of their goods by lunchtime.
The event is free and there were more than 150 stalls, offering local and artisan produce.
The day kicked off with a chef demonstration from the Hand and Flowers chef, Tom Kerridge, and his development chef, Chris Mackett who cooked a quail meal and a vegetarian dish from his £15 two course lunch time menu.
Tom currently has a series on BBC2 called Proper Pub Food.
Other chefs who demonstrated throughout the day were Adam Simmonds from Danesfield House, Raymond Blanc, the festival ambassador and Lotte Duncan, the festival patron and food writer and presenter.
There were also other events taking place, including a scone demonstration in the Aga Shop from All Scone; a couple called Liam and Grace who have just had a cookery book published dedicated to scones.
