'Targeted attack' on Marlow home leads to arrests
TWO men have been arrested after a home in Marlow was the subject of a targeted attack, police have said.
The house in Little Marlow Road was initially broken into in an aggravated burglary last Thursday, it was revealed this afternoon.
An arrest was made after this crime and later the windows were smashed in, leading to a second arrest for criminal damage.
Inspector Scott Messenger, based at Marlow Police Station, said: “The property in Little Marlow Road was subject to an aggravated burglary last week and someone has been arrested and charged and has been remanded in custody for that.”
An aggravated burglary involves a weapon, although police were unable to go into more details on this aspect of the crime due to the ongoing investigation.
Insp. Messenger did confirm, however, that nobody was harmed.
Insp. Messenger, in charge of Wycombe rural, said: “The same property has suffered some criminal damage, the windows were put in. That's why all of them have been boarded up.”
A man was arrested for this and is on police bail, with enquiries ongoing.
Insp. Messenger reassured neighbours on the street, saying: “Our thoughts are at the moment that this was a targeted attack, it wasn't random. Offences of this nature are extremely rare.”
Residents had spotted a police van outside the home for a number of days and received notes through their letter boxes asking for information.
