A TRAIN station will undergo a renovation, which will cost more than £500,000.
Work began this weekend to redevelop Haddenham and Thame Parkway and bring a host of improvements to the Chiltern Railways station.
The project has been part funded by both Network Rail and Chiltern Railways as part of the National Station Improvement Programme.
There will be a bigger ticket office, a more spacious area for the coffee shop, accessible toilets within the new station building, a waiting room on the platform, upgrades to cycle parking, a new motorcycle area and enhanced station lighting.
It is expected the work will take six months and during this time the existing ticket office and coffee shop will be temporarily relocated next to the taxi office.
Jennifer Payne, customer service director at Chiltern Railways, said: "It’s important for us that we make these improvements and continue to improve the customer experience at one of our fastest growing stations. We’ll do everything we can to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum whilst work is being carried out."
