Wooburn residents' group launches major village survey
THE future of the Wooburns is up for debate with a new survey asking residents to give their views on everything from public transport to housing developments.
Wooburn Residents’ Association has posted a questionnaire to every house in the area seeking opinions on a range of issues to better understand people’s priorities for their village.
As well as large-scale projects, the comprehensive questionnaire covers day-to-day issues such as community events, parking and traffic.
Chairman Sue Rogers said:"This is an opportunity for the people of Wooburn to express their concerns on a whole range of issues.
"If the community say they want something then with the weight of evidence from this survey we can start the process of working with parish and district councillors or the necessary groups to get things done.
"It is also a chance to find out from people who wouldn’t normally attend out meetings but who are equally concerned about what goes on in their village."
She added that if the data shows residents want small changes, the Residents’ Association will be able to use the survey to enact these themselves.
The group then plans to use the information gathering exercise as a platform for its long-term plans, with members warning the issues brought to light may not be solved overnight.
An online survey is also available, with Wooburn businesses urged to add their voices to the debate.
The questionnaire, which takes around ten minutes to complete, is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/G22L3XB
