Pupils donate food for a good cause
PUPILS at a school in Penn Street donated a car full of food for a homeless charity in High Wycombe.
Curzon C of E Combined School held its Harvest Festival service at Holy Trinity Church in Penn Street.
The 140 pupils were asked to bring in donations for Wycombe Homeless Connection, which is a community project of Wycombe churches, serving around 300 single adult homeless or vulnerably housed individuals each year.
Head teacher Jacquie Coles said: "The children really look forward to our Harvest Festival service every year and take great pride in bringing in their charity donations."
The Year 1 and 2 children performed the play The Little Red Hen, which is the tale of a hen and her animal friends who refuse to help her grow and harvest corn, but who recognise the error of their ways when she asks them to share the bread she bakes using the corn.
