Children struggling to cope with loved one's death offered help
3:00pm Saturday 12th October 2013 in News
CHILDREN struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one are being offered help by the founder of a national charity.
Jenni Thomas, who originally founded the Child Bereavement Trust, now Child Bereavement UK, is running a workshop to help parents and youngsters next week.
Her tutorial on talking to children about loss and death takes place at St Katharine's, Parmoor, in Frieth on October 19 from 10 to 1pm.
Jenni, who worked in the NHS for 45 years before setting up the trust in the early 1990s, was awarded an OBE for her work.
She published a book earlier this year to help bereaved families.
She said: "This workshop is based on our book 'What Does Dead Mean' and is for all parents or those working with children, whether loss has been an experience in the family or not."
