Frustration at delay in parking survey
FRUSTRATED councillors have complained about the hold up in carrying out a parking survey in Walters Ash.
Hughenden Parish Council has pledged £3,000 towards a parking feasibility study in the village to solve numerous issues regarding parking, especially by shops.
But as yet, no survey has been carried out by Buckinghamshire County Council.
Chairman of HPC Roger Beavil said: "I feel incredibly despondent with the way Bucks County Council, through Transport for Bucks has handled things like that.
"Not only have we requested a feasibility study and report- we are paying for it.
"We are at the time now when that feasibility study should have been discussed by this council and they haven't even started the study."
Councillor said the parking problems have been going on for seven years but this year was the first time they put money forward for a study.
Dan Elworthy, spokesman for Transport for Buckinghamshire, said: "The parish had identified funding for the feasibility study and commissioned Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) to carry it out. To date no money has been received by TfB.
"The project has suffered some delays, however TfB has remained in contact with members of the parish council regarding the issues and is continuing to work with them to decide a way forward. TfB is currently waiting for further instruction from the parish council regarding whether it would like to continue with the commission."
