Conviction for failed Hazlemere bank robber caught fleeing in his underpants
A FAILED bank robber who threatened cashiers in Hazlemere with a bomb before fleeing through woods in his underpants was convicted this week.
21-year-old Tom Brambleby, from Roberts Ride, Hazlemere, pleaded guilty after the attempted robbery of Natwest on Park Parade on July 19.
Brambleby entered the bank at 9.45am wearing a ‘Scream’ Mask’ and camouflage jacket.
He placed a note on the glass divider stating that he had a bomb which would explode if no money was handed over.
After staff told him to leave he fled through nearby fields and shed his clothes, with police calling in a dog unit and helicopter support during the chase.
Brambleby was later spotted running in his underwear through the woods and was arrested.
He was convicted at Amersham Crown Court Wednesday, October 9, and is due to be sentenced at the same court on November 13.
