Marlow gig to form part of 150,000 UK audience
5:00pm Saturday 19th October 2013 in News
A GIG in Marlow will form part of a total UK wide audience this month of 150,000.
A show at The Assembly Room next Friday is taking place for the Oxjam month of music to aid the global fight against poverty.
During October, more than 800 venues, 9,000 volunteers, 7,000 musicians and 150,000 audience members are expected to be involved for the Oxfam fundraiser.
Musicians performing in Marlow include Van Susans, Two Tides, Lonnie Storey, Lauren Taylor and Isaac Sakima.
Flick Heath, who is organising the event, said: “I’m really excited to be getting Marlow involved in the month-long musical celebration right across the country this year.
"The aim is for everyone that comes to have a brilliant evening, enjoying the live music whilst knowing that they’re helping to change lives around the world.”
She said Oxjam is a festival with a difference because thousands of fundraising music events are put on by ordinary people – from large-scale festivals to sponsored busks – making it the biggest line-up of any music festival in the UK.
Tickets are currently on sale for £8 online. See www.WeGotTickets.com and search ‘Marlow Oxjam’, or tickets will be £10 on the door. Doors open at 7pm.
