A COUPLE from Tylers Green who have had two premature babies organised a walk to help raise money for a charity which supported them.
Nick and Emma Haynes have two children, Harvey, five and 18-month-old Phoebe.
Both were born at Stoke Mandeville Hospital- Harvey was five weeks premature and Phoebe was seven and a half weeks early.
Both children are doing well now- with Harvey at Curzon CofE School- and to give something back the couple organised the walk to raise money for Bliss, which is a UK charity that helps care for premature and sick babies.
On November 17 Emma, 30, Nick, 38 and a group of 30 other people did a 5km walk from The Horse and Jockey. They raised £700.
Emma, who is a personal trainer, said: "Having two premature children was awful. It is not what is considered normal.
"We were at Stoke Mandeville Hospital- they were absolutely unbelievable- they were amazing. "If it wasn't for them and their care these little ones wouldn't be here."
The walk was held on World Prematurity Day and they plan to do it every year.
