A TELEVISION newsreader will be the star guest at a Marlow Christmas event.
Mary Nightingale, the ITV news host will be the compère at Marlow Choral Society’s Christmas Carol Concert this year.
The annual charity Christmas Concert, conducted by Jackie Duxbury, takes place on Saturday, December 14, at 7.30pm in the Shelley Theatre, Court Garden Leisure Centre, Pound Lane, Marlow.
Carol Austin, Choir Press Officer, said: "As a child, Mary Nightingale lived in Marlow from the age of four and went to Danesfield School. Mary’s mother, Jennifer Nightingale, sang with Marlow Choral Society for many years.
"Amongst her many interests in Marlow, Jennifer helped at Marlow Age Concern serving lunches for many years and latterly was a very grateful recipient of its services.
"Mary’s mother Jennifer died in July 2012 and the Choral Society sang at her funeral in All Saints’ Church, Marlow."
Proceeds from the concert will be divided between Marlow Age Concern and Peach, a charity based in Ascot, Berkshire, for children with autism. Mary has chosen Marlow Age Concern as her charity in memory of her mother.
Tickets at £10 (children £5) are available from WPS Stationers in Spittal Street, Marlow.
