FATHER Christmas made an extra special four-legged friend called Whinnie at a charity's Christmas Market.

On Saturday Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in Saunderton was transformed into a winter wonderland, which included a grotto for Father Christmas and his elves.

And Whinnie, who is in training at the charity, was a big hit with Father Christmas.

There were more than 900 visitors who browsed the stalls which sold homemade gifts and refreshments.

Hannah Holmes, event organiser, said: "We were thrilled that so many of our supporters came along to join in the festive fun at our Christmas Market. It was lovely to see so many jolly faces and wagging tails getting into the Christmas spirit."

It raised more than £3,000, of which every penny will go towards helping to train more life-changing hearing dogs who will go on to change the lives of deaf people.

This was the fourth and final event held at The Grange this year, and a new calendar of events will be available on the Hearing Dogs website in the New Year at www.hearingdogs.org.uk
