A HOMELESS charity is urging residents to dine out at a quartet of restaurants supporting the homeless over the festive period.

Gilbey’s in Old Amersham, The Nag’s Head at Great Missenden,The Bricklayer’s Arms in Flaunden and The Old Plow Bistro and Restaurant at Speen have all signed up to the StreetSmart campaign.

At the end of the meal, diners will be invited to pledge a voluntary £1 donation which will wing its way to the Wycombe Homeless Connection.

Dr Sheena Dykes, chair of trustess of the charity, said: “We strongly urge people to book a table at the four restaurants that are helping us this year through the StreetSmart campaign.

“ In a small charity such as ours, every penny directly helps those in housing crisis. For just £1, diners can really feel they are doing their bit to help the plight of homeless people this Christmas.”

The Stephen Fry-endorsed StreetSmart initiative has raised £6.3 million over the last 15 years, with all administration costs funded by Deutsche Bank.
