CHURCH-GOERS were in full voice as they belted out Christmas songs at the annual Festival of Carols in aid of the Mayor’s Appeal.
About 400 people were packed into All Saints Church as children from Busy Bees Nursery, Millbrook Combined and Wycombe Marsh schools angelically sang a selection of festive carols.
They were joined by performances from the Wycombe Orpheus Choir, the Wycombe Steel Orchestra and the Wycombe Salvation Army Band on Sunday night.
The event is expected to have raised more than £1,000, which will be split between the Mayor’s Appeal and the church in High Wycombe.
Mayor of High Wycombe Trevor Snaith said: “It was a wonderful event, the music was brilliant and the amount of comments I’ve had from people who came to watch is phenomenal. It gets bigger every year.
“We also managed to get a few little presents and toys from a business, which we gave to the 60-odd children singing at the end of the event – it was a lovely thing to be able to do.”
