A DOG owner is facing the prospect of a Christmas without her beloved pet after she went missing eight weeks ago.

Nell, a tri colour Terrier Jack Russell, went missing on October 17 between Chinnor and Crowell.

Despite searching for her desperately there has still be no sign of her and Nell's owner, Dawn, is distraught.

Dawn's friend, Holly Wakefield, believes Nell could be being looked after by someone else.

She said: "Someone must know where she is, a friend or family member has an extra dog.

"We are begging you if you have Nell or think you know where she is to please get in contact so we can bring her home."

Nell was being walked when she disappeared. There is a £500 reward for her safe return.

Holly added: "Those of you that have lost a dog will understand how heart breaking it is not knowing where they are.

"The silence in the house is deafening, the mornings are awful because you walk down the stairs and she is not there to greet you.

"And every night you go to bed hoping that tomorrow will be the day she comes home.

"You ask yourself a hundred questions everyday - Is she being looked after? Are they nice people? Are they feeding her? Is she getting cuddles? When the fireworks are going off are they with her because she gets frightened?

"She has never been left on her own, are there people with her in the day or is she left alone? Is she missing her home?"

She said if someone has Nell and is afraid to contact them, then take her to the vets or Stokenchurch Dog Rescue and just say you found her so they can get her home for Christmas.
