POLICE have made an appeal to help find a man wanted in connection to 13 thefts, including one which took place in Marlow.

The majority of the victims in the spate of thefts have been elderly women who have been out shopping.

Hertfordshire Police this week made an appeal to track 61-year-old John Gwillim-Jones, who was last known to be staying at a hotel in Upper Woburn Place in London.

One of the offences he is alleged to have committed took place in Marlow in May, and Gwillim-Jones is also wanted in connection to six thefts that took place in Hertfordshire in August and October.

Officers alledge he carried out further thefts in Charing Cross and Maidenhead in January, Eltham in August, and Sevenoaks, Camberley and Cambridge in September.

Police say the wanted man is known to travel by train.

Anyone with information on Gwillim-Jones's whereabouts, or who sees him, should contact Hertfordshire Police on 101 or the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
