SCOUTS from Penn and Tylers Green have been delivering Christmas post for more than 20 years.

And this year will be no different as the Penn and Tylers Green scouts Christmas post service runs throughout December.

The scout group rely on businesses in the area to help them to operate the postal service with special ‘scout post boxes’ and stamps in shops and businesses.

The JNP Partnership has also provided sponsorship for the service, which goes to Manor Farm, most of Penn and Tylers Green, in order to produce the stamps available for purchase at the various outlets.

This year’s stamps have been designed by the Beaver and Cub groups and can be bought in The Village Hall, Kings Ride Supermarket, Filippos Hairdressers, Lansdales Pharmacy, Joe Gleeson's Butcher JJ’s Delicatessen and Londis Supermarket. Stamps are £1 for a strip of six.

Charles Barlow, organiser of the Scout Post, said: "For more than 20 years the scouts in this area have been delivering Christmas cards to local residents.

"It’s such a festive thing to do and really spreads cheer throughout the community. We are so grateful to our sponsors JNP for helping us to provide this service for another year."

The post boxes are out now until December 21.
