A PENSIONER has escaped serious injury after being punched in the face by a masked man in High Wycombe yesterday.

The man in his 70s was in Spearing Road with a friend between 4pm and 4.30pm when he was assaulted.

PC Carl Pearson, investigating the incident, said: “Although the offender had his face covered, we believe he was Asian and around 30-years-old.

“Fortunately the man wasn’t seriously injured but it is a distressing incident and I appealing for anyone with information to come forward and speak to the police.”
