A HOUSING developer has been granted permission for a controversial project in Bourne End after having its previously plans thrown out.

Shanly Homes has won approval from Wycombe District Council for a 12-house development to the rear of Bramley Gardens despite heavy objections from neighbouring residents over parking, loss of privacy and overcrowding.

But the housing developer must follow a series of strict conditions laid down by WDC planners.

These include an agreed parking scheme, council consent over the intended materials for the houses and an order restricting the number of windows on upper floors to protect neighbours’ privacy.

Shanly Homes’ initial for 15 houses was thrown out in September after a raft of objections from residents.

But the revised plans also attracted opposition, with neighbours complaining the new homes would “destroy” the privacy of those living of the adjacent Furlong Road.

Access to the properties will be from Hedsor Road, just south of Bourne End rail station.
