A SEA of shopping and cash donations from supermarket customers allowed a fundraising effort to send over 100 hampers to the needy over the festive period.
Shoppers in Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross provided food and money to help Beaconsfield Lions Club send 115 hampers to some of the area's poorest people.
As well as trolley-loads of goodies, £2000 was raised to distribute the food parcels to people in and around the Beaconsfield area.
Lions members have thanked shoppers for their generosity during their Christmas fundraising drive.
Member Ian Andrew said: "The Beaconsfield Lions Club would like to send a big thank you once again to all the shoppers at Sainsbury’s and Waitrose in Beaconsfield and Waitrose and Tesco in Gerrards Cross for their wonderful generosity.
"Thanks to those Lions and volunteers who gave of their time through all weathers to man the collections and distribute the Christmas Hampers.
"A wonderful effort by everyone and so much appreciated by all those who received the Christmas Hampers and who sent us so many thank you cards."
