FEEDBACK from patients and carers is being sought at meetings aiming to help form improvements for healthcare in the county.

After launching in November, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s ‘Big Conversation’ continues this year, with more events being held across the county in January and February.

Professor Lynne Swiatczak, Chief Nurse and Director of Patient Care Standards at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said: "Through our Big Conversation events and feedback online, we’ve heard from many patients and carers who have shared their views and experiences of care in Buckinghamshire.

"We heard how many people felt they received good clinical care but they felt we needed to make improvements to our administrative processes. Some patients were disappointed that sometimes our support staff’s approach was less welcoming.

"As a result we are now looking at piloting training for our reception and administrative staff so that all aspects of care are truly patient-centred, from the moment each patient arrives at hospital."

The events also aim to update patients and carers on new initiatives that have been introduced.

The next round of public events will take place as follows.

• Bourne End, January 14 (1.30pm – 4pm)

• Beaconsfield, January 23 (6.30pm – 9pm)

• Thame, January 31 (9.30am – 12.00) • Buckingham, February 5 (2 – 4pm)
