A HAIRDRESSER is in for a hair-raising experience when she throws herself out of a plane to raise money for charity.
Rachel Bourke will be doing a parachute jump in May to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of her father Des, who died after a heart attack eight years ago.
The 39-year-old from High Wycombe raised almost £1,200 by competing in the 10k Canary Wharf race last year.
She said: “I’m a little scared but it’s something I have always wanted to do. My family and friends will be coming with me but none of them are brave enough to do it with me!
“My dad was a healthy fellow but he died from a sudden heart attack, he was only 61.
“He was such a wonderful father and grandad and we were all truly devastated. So I decided to turn my tears of sadness into tears of joy for others by helping to raise money for such a wonderful charity.”
