A CHARITY shop in Lane End is reopening, which the organiser said will be the cheapest in the area.

John Richards, who runs the Oasis project, will be reopening the shop in the High Street in Lane End.

The Oasis project gives unemployed young people the chance to get back into work through free practical training and mentoring.

The courses available are mechanics, painting and decorating, gardening and landscaping, retailing and literacy.

Mr Richards said: "All clothing, with the exception of coats and suits, will be £1 per item or less.

"Our clothes will be the cheapest any where.

"There was a big write up in the nationals last week about how charity shops are out pricing themselves and coming up to retail prices.

"We are there for the benefit of community training kids. We are going to let people have bargains. "We are a real charity shop."

They intend to open on Tuesday, January 21 at 10am, and will then be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Oasis has now been running for six years. It is now a Church of England charity.

If you would like to donate clothes, bric a brac, books, DVS, CDs, garden tools or pictures or volunteer in the shop call Mr Richards on 07592 587554.
