AS the deadline for ‘The Buckinghamshire Business Awards’ fast approaches, one of the winners at the 2013 awards has revealed how the success has impacted on his firm.

Gary Swanwick, MD of Epoq IT in High Wycombe, won Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Business of the Year at last year’s awards.

He said: “Being shortlisted was a huge honour but to win both awards on the night was overwhelming and has been incredibly beneficial to our business. There was a huge amount of media coverage which really exceeded our expectations and raised our profile within the business community across the county.

“It also helped with company culture. Making staff feel like they are part of a successful and growing team helped to raise morale and see that their hard work is recognised.

“One of the biggest benefits was how we were perceived by potential clients. Winning the awards generated more leads and added credibility to proposals. It also gave us something very positive to share with our existing clients.”

Now in its seventh year, ‘The Buckinghamshire Business Awards’ are Buckinghamshire’s leading business awards which recognise and reward those businesses who have achieved success in their field. Among the categories are ones to mark apprentice employers, charities, customer service, business innovation and many more besides.

The closing date for entries to the awards, which are open for entry to businesses across the county, January 31 and the winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at The Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury on May 15.
