A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury after colliding with a car in Marlow this morning.

Shortly after 9.30am a grey Hyundai and the pedestrian collided on Little Marlow Road, near the Esso petrol station.

The woman, aged in her sixties, was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with a serious head injury.

Officers have closed Little Marlow Road while an examination of the scene takes place, with police confirming it is due to reopen shortly.

The vehicle involved in the collision stopped at the scene.

Sgt Martin Harper, of Thames Valley Police Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to speak to police.

“We would also be interested to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the collision.”
