West Wycombe garden centre has closed

Bucks Free Press: West Wycombe estate West Wycombe estate

A GARDEN centre in West Wycombe has closed, but owners said there are "exciting plans afoot."

The centre and café in Chorley Road closed just after Christmas.

The land is owned by Sir Edward Dashwood, who runs the West Wycombe Estate.

Mary Hilder, from the West Wycombe Estate Office, said: "There are exciting things happening in the near future.

"At the moment we haven't finalised our plans."

She would not comment any further on why the centre closed.

But she said to remind readers tea and coffee is served at the Hell-Fire Caves at the weekend.

Shame, it's a nice garden centre and they sell nice furniture too.

With a food hygiene rating of only 1 (out of 5) they've done us all a favour by closing down. I only hope they get that filth pit cleaned up before they ever re-open.

Who the hell is interested in the food hygiene rating when the oldest garden centre in the UK has closed down? Very sad.

When I used to live in Downley this place was a regular haunt and had a good team of peeps working there - small garden centres generally offer better service and this one did - plant quality was really good also
