A MAN has been charged with driving without due care and attention after crashing into the front of a house in Chesham last night.

Vladimir Ivanovs, 47, from Little Greencroft, Chesham, has also been charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath after the car he was driving hit a street light and the property on Greenway.

Police were called by ambulance crews to the incident around 10.20pm on Tuesday.

The occupants of the house escaped without injury, while Mr Ivanovs suffered a cut to the head, which was treated at the scene.

Fire crews from Amersham and Chesham also attended, putting cordons in place and making the scene safe.

A street light was also badly damaged in the crash and had to be removed by a county council response crew.

Transport for Buckinghamshire’s emergency team were unable to make the light safe, and electricity engineers were called in to disconnect the supply around 2am.

Council workers were then able to cut the column down and remove it.

A TfB spokesman said the street light will be replaced in about six weeks.

Mr Ivanovs has been released on police bail to appear at Aylesbury Magistrates' Court on 17 February.
