A CAR sales garage celebrating 20 years in the businesses discovered one of their first customers still owns the car he bought from them two decades ago.

Brothers Tim and Nick Pink set up Bourne End Motors in 1994 and have supplied vehicles to villagers from their site in Wakeman Road for 20 years.

Original customer Geoff Nash drove off the forecourt in his shiny new Peugeot 106 just after the brothers had set up shop.

And as they handed over the keys to their most recent customer, Phillipa Ballisat, Mr Nash and his car joined the celebrations to mark their milestone, with the generous brothers even gave it a full valet clean.

Nick said: “We know Mr Nash and see him around the village in his car so we thought it would be a nice gesture after 20 years.

“In my experience, It’s quite a unique thing for someone to have a car for so long, he’s looked after it very well.

“I’d like to think we would be here for another 20 years but our age might catch up with us, but we’ll certainly see out our working lives here.

"Bourne End is such a thriving community and a passionate one, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

Former traffic police officer Nick, 52 and his brother Tim, 51, who both went to Sir William Borlase’s School in Marlow, have supplied cars to sports stars, actors and TV presenters in their two decades in Bourne End.
