A FASHION designer from Beaconsfield has landed her dream job in the USA at clothing giant Abercrombie and Fitch after impressing during a short internship.
22-year-old graduate Kelly Walker won a position at the firm’s headquarters in Ohio after winning a three-month training position from her university Nottingham Trent.
And the former Beaconsfield High School pupil has now jetted off to the US to begin her role as female sweaters and winterwear designer at the home of high-end design house.
She said: "I actually entered a competition in my second year of university to win a three-month summer internship with Abercrombie."
"I was fortunate enough to win and at the end of my three months here in the states, A&F offered me a full-time post grad position."
"We are currently designing jumpers, cardigans, hats and scarves for Christmas 2014, whilst also developing and fitting the styles we designed for Labor Day and Spring/Summer 2014. I'm also learning to knit! It gets really busy, but it’s also very exciting!"
Abercrombie and Fitch, founded in New York in 1892, has become a worldwide fashion sensation, with over 1000 locations worldwide selling its brand of youth-orientated clothing and accessories.
