PUPILS at a Beaconsfield school took a walk on the wild side last week when they got a chance to get up close and personal with crocodiles.
Three of the reptiles, brought along by conservation centre Crocodiles of the World, entertained children at Holtspur School.
Handler Terry Miles taught the class about their feeding habits and habitat, with three lucky pupils even getting the chance to stroke the ancient reptiles, whose ancestors date back to the time of the dinosaurs.
Deirdre Smaje , chair of governors, said: "Thanks to the generosity of one of our parents, it’s been a brilliant learning experience for everyone.
“Some of our children knew a lot more than I did – and I have a zoology degree!"
Winey-based Crocodiles of the World is run by TV reptile expert Shaun Foggett, and is dedicated to the care and conservation of crocodiles through direct action and education.
